Óskar Ly & Rumbalú is a San Francisco-based world-class Latin collective, bringing a unique musical and visual experience to the fans of Latin Jazz and Afro-Cuban rhythms. The band has toured nationally, with performances at SFJazz, New Mexico Salsa Congress, San Francisco Fillmore Salsa Festival, Afro Latinx Festival, San Jose's Colombian Independence Festival, just to mention a few. 

Our music features GRAMMY  award winners Karl Perazzo (from Santana), Sal Cuevas (from Fania All Stars), Nino Segarra, Richie Flores (from Eddie Palmieri), Dante Vargas (from Marc Anthony), Nelson Rangell (from GRP All Stars), combined with the beautiful and groovy voices of Iván Rondón from Colombia and Sarah Vincenty from Puerto Rico.

ÓSKAR LY

Óskar Ly is a multi-instrumentalist, arranger, composer, bandleader and music producer based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Originally from Barranquilla, Colombia, his music journey began when he was 9, being the piano his first instrument.

 

A self-taught artist, he also plays guitar, bass, melodica, accordion, and Latin percussion instruments. Currently, he is the director of Óskar Ly & Rumbalú, 

 

Óskar has collaborated with Latin music superstars Nino Segarra, Chuchito Valdés, Nelson Rangell, Sal Cuevas (bassist of Fania All Stars), Karl Perazzo (Santana’s drummer), Richie Flores (Eddie Palmieri’s conguero), Dante Vargas (Marc Anthony’s trumpeter), Elías Tona (Al Di Meola's bassist), the Grammy award winning Pacific Mambo Orchestra, among other renowned artists.
